Ramile Malubay makes it to American idol’s top 24

Small but terrible. That’s how I describe Filipino-American Ramiele Malubay, another Pinoy who makes it to American Idol Season 7’s top 24.  The 19-year-old petite beauty delighted judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson during the first audition with her take on Aretha Franklin’s “Natural Woman”.

Abdul said Malubay was “phenomenal”, Jackson said he was impressed by her big voice, to think that she is just a “cute little person”. Though the sharp-tongued Simon Cowell didn’t share the same sentiments and gave Malubay a ‘no’ (even saying that Ramiele’s voice ‘was only good as a hotel singer), Filipino fans could only applaud and look forward to her continuing journey in Idol.          (more…)

It’s about time Willie Revillame admits courting Cristine Reyes

Now that Willie Revillame’s marriage to Liz Almuro has finally been annulled by the court, maybe it’s about time the Wowowee host admits courting Ara Mina’s beautiful younger sister Cristine Reyes (or do they already have a relationship).

Willie is now free so there’s no point of hiding his intention for Cristine unless of course papie has a bit of shame to admit that ‘he’s a carabao eating young grass’. But as long as Cristine allows it, who are we to stop Willie?     (more…)

Senate hearing suggestions

Instead of dealing on political issues and being tagged as politically motivated, the senate should conduct hearings on issues that affect the greater poor Filipinos. Here are my suggestions:

  1. Conduct inquiry on where the budget for Education goes. Ensure that funds go to where it should be – construction of school buildings, production of quality books, salary and benefits of teachers, etc. 
  2. Conduct inquiry on health issues. Create legislations that would compel local government units to organize anti-dengue drive or compensate residents who do recycling
