America has voted and Ramiele Malubay dream of becoming this years American Idol have ended. Ramiele Malubay sang “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind” which failed to impress the judges and ultimately, the American public.
This week the bottom three consisted of Kristy Lee, Brooke White and Ramiele Malubay. The standouts this week were David Archuleta and Carly Smithson with anther strong performance from David Cook.
Wednesday’s show also featured performances by the Clake Brother who were the winners of of FOX’s “The Next Great American Band” and this weeks mentor, country music star Dolly Parton.
This episode also included a reminder about Idol Gives Back, which airs April 9th on FOX. The final eight contestants for American Idol include Brooke White, Michael Johns, David Archuleta, Kristy Lee Cook, Carly Smithson, Jason Castro and Syesha Mercado.
Filipino-American Ramiele Malubay is making the country proud as she made it to the final 12 contestatns of the topr-ated TV talent show “American Idol”.
The show narrowed its list of contestants to 12 , sending home sassy 18-year-old Danny Noriega and retaining former male stripper David Hernandez. Ramiele Malubay remains in the fight for the next American Idol
The 12 finalists in alphabetical order are: David Archuleta, 17, Jason Castro, 20, David Cook, 25, Kristy Lee Cook, 24, Chikezie Eze, 22, David Hernandez, 24, Michael Johns, 29, Ramiele Malubay, 20, Syesha Mercado, 21, Amanda Overmyer, 23, Carly Smithson, 24, Brooke White, 24.
Small but terrible. That’s how I describe Filipino-American Ramiele Malubay, another Pinoy who makes it to American Idol Season 7’s top 24. The 19-year-old petite beauty delighted judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson during the first audition with her take on Aretha Franklin’s “Natural Woman”.
Abdul said Malubay was “phenomenal”, Jackson said he was impressed by her big voice, to think that she is just a “cute little person”. Though the sharp-tongued Simon Cowell didn’t share the same sentiments and gave Malubay a ‘no’ (even saying that Ramiele’s voice ‘was only good as a hotel singer), Filipino fans could only applaud and look forward to her continuing journey in Idol.
