Regine Velasquez’s musical show “Songbird” has failed to soar when the ratings for its second episode last Thursday registered only 13.1 percent as compared to Koreanovela “Lovers” with 14.9 percent.

Observers claimed that the concept of “Songbird” is too sosy (sosyal), meaning it does not connect to the madlang pipol. And how true is the rumor that while the staff of “Songbird” wants to reformat the show to make it more masa, Regine wants to keep the format and want the show to be sosyal-sosyalan?

Regine should adjust and accept the fact that she’s no longer the sosyal song bird.

GMA Films has turned down Gabby Concepcion’s offer to return P1.75 million that was the downpayment when the actor signed a contract with GMA September last year.

Gabby’s camp said the actor expressed interest to return the money to GMA Films anytime considering that Gabby has signed another contract with ABS-CBN last April 1.

“It’s not just a signed contract, we fulfilled part of the obligation and we gave him down payment. Actually, the provision of our contract said that it’s for one movie. But we also have exclusive rights to the second movie if we serve it a notice within three months after the termination of the first movie,” said GMA Films President Annette Gozon-Abrogar.

Abrogar said they were not worried with Gabby’s signing of contract with ABS-CBN but warned the actor “he cannot start working on a movie until matapos nya ang contract nya sa atin”.

GMA-7 has finally let go of sexy teen star Cristine Reyes despite the fact that the contract of the actress in the network has not expired yet.

“GMA has decided to drop Cristine Reyes from its roster of talents because of her attitude and behavior. She is welcome to leave the network that has a lot more serious artists to assign important projects to and develop into fine, professional actors. Thus being said, GMA network has now closed its doors on Cristine”.

Now, Cristine is fre to accept the project “Eva Fonda, 16″ and the possibility of becoming one of the co-hosts of Willie Revillame in ABS-CBN’s Wowowee.
